The Proposal

THE 40th AMENDMENT (CARE)

Article 42.1.1° outlines how a woman’s role in the home supports the state. Article 42.1.2° further outlines the state’s commitment to supporting mothers while fulfilling their duties within the home.

This amendment proposed to delete the aforementioned article subsections and replace it with a new Article 42B, which outlined that the state would ‘strive to support’ family members while fulfilling their duty of care to each other ‘by reason of the bonds that exist among them’.
